Imagine there was a place where all things deemed neither real nor right had amassed. Ranging from elf to troll. Championing Biblical villains such as Nimrod and Lilith in as much as it celebrated deities of mythology.

If God says it is wrong, or the Vatican has condemned it – chances are you’ll find it here living quite happily. Encompassing so many variation of creature to live alongside mankind – that it has become a kind of utopia of the forbidden & forgotten.

Existing on another world. Or perhaps in a dimension. No one is quite sure. Simply put – another place. Never in your direct line of sight. Rather in your peripheral vision.

If you search too hard you won’t find it. But if you stop looking and let your mind wander – it might just find you.

This board will help you appreciate the mode of thinking behind Deathstalker's creation. In a shared vision, each player can help enrich this tapestry of ideas; conjuring an imaginative setting for us all.

In a nutshell, that is the premise of Deathstalker. A glorious land deeply trenched in the weird and unusual. The enchanted.

Unashamedly inspired by the likes of C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia &
J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings epics.

Compounded, darkened even, by the striking theatrical works of Guillermo del Toro's Pan’s Labyrinth & Hell Boy films; with special reference to the unusual creatures.

Added to that, the game of Dungeons & Dragons has played a significant role in my perception of the setting. Particularly Forgotten Realms with its myriad of civilisations and races.

Therefore the concept of Deathstalker is primarily a simple one.

Everything that falls under the traditional headings of Fantasy & the Supernatural are housed here. There are no limitations save those found at the edge of your imagination.

The words Magic & Mystery should be perceived as synonymous with the setting.

Harbouring entities of fable. Be they dragon & unicorn. Demon or harpy. It is a place of dream & nightmare manifest and made real. Contradiction and reverie. While condemned figures of Biblical noteworthiness such as Eve & Cain are revered. Propagated as a daughter of the Mother Goddess and a heathen sage respectively. Further to that, the Judeo-Christian-Islamic God (also referred to as the Abrahamic Religions) is something that is vehemently rejected in favour of broad Polytheism. (Polytheism is the belief in or worship of multiple deities, called gods and/or goddesses. These are usually assembled into a pantheon, along with their own mythologies and rituals.)

With a Gaia – Earth Mother figure, as its head.

While this does not mean Deathstalker has affiliated itself with Lucifer, Satin or the Devil – it has enveloped the old heathen religions; the so called false idols. Offering these dwindled pagan faiths a final vestige, a bastion where their greatness may be remembered. Ranging from Norse, Olympian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian to create an exotic blend of culture and colour.

Also, the likes of the Nephilim, Lycans, Vampires and everything in between are perceived not as abominations – but complex characters portrayed by you the player. And at its crescendo, like in all good tales, there is a castle. Where a dark and brooding overlord watches and waits.

The rest is up to you.

Create your stories and enjoy with my compliments.
